Photos taken in 2012: Shepherd Stadium, nestled in a residential neighborhood, hosted professional baseball for two seasons back in the 1950's, but has been used exclusively for amateur games since then. I was unable to get inside, but the park appears to be very well maintained and apparently gets plenty of use. It is always nice to know that.

Facilities. The most historic venue for athletics on the Shepherd campus is Fairfax Field. Fairfax Field previously served a dual purpose as a football field before Ram Stadium was built. The Shepherd softball field was renamed Sara Cree Field on April 14, 2018, in a ceremony in between games of a doubleheader against Concord University.

High School Baseball has been a tradition at Shepherd Stadium. It is the home of Colonial Heights Colonials. In the years 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003, Shepherd Stadium was the host facility for the AAA State High School Baseball Championships and in 2001 & 2004, the host of the Central Region Championships. In 1999, Shepherd Stadium was named the Region II High School Field of the Year.
