Lion House Rolls. In large bowl, mix yeast and water; let stand 5 minutes. Add sugar, shortening, salt, dry milk, egg, and 2 cups flour. Beat together until smooth. Gradually add remaining 3ยฝ cups flour until soft dough is formed. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl; cover and let rise.

Ingredients for the Dressing (with Substitutions) Fresh ginger & garlic. Finely mince, or use a microplane to grate. In a pinch, you can sub in about 1/4 teaspoon of dried ginger and garlic. Soy sauce. Use gluten-free tamari, liquid aminos, or coconut aminos if needed. Rice vinegar.

Make the dressing by combining the mayonnaise, Miracle Whip, granulated sugar, pepper, and 1/4-1/2 tsp salt. Instructions. Chop or tear the iceberg lettuce into bite size pieces, then rinse, drain, and spin the lettuce dry. Thaw peas in a strainer/colander under hot water until thawed and bright green, then immediately rinse and drain them with cool water. Cook bacon until crisp and drain fat on paper towels. Crumble or chop bacon with a knife.

Put frozen peas in a colander. Run hot water over peas to thaw. Drain peas. Tear lettuce into bit sized pieces and place in salad bowl. Sprinkle sugar, salt, and pepper over top of lettuce. Add peas, cheese, onion, mayo, and salad dressing. (If making salad ahead of time layer ingredients in order listed finishing with mayo and salad dressing.

Once they are properly drained, get a medium-sized mixing bowl and combine all of the ingredients. Stir well, but gently, until everything is covered with sour cream. You can serve immediately or let the flavors mingle covered in the refrigerator before serving. Tastes good either way. Enjoy!

Reader Sidney Jude Moormeister fondly remembers eating a dish called Sarah's Salad at the Lion House in the early 1980s. I found the recipe in the Lion House Classics cookbook. Requests โ€ข Reader Bri Marshall is trying to find a recipe similar to the lemon pilaf served at Greek Souvlaki restaurants in Salt Lake City and Murray.

Add the onions and celery to the chickpeas along with the mayo, mustard, optional dill relish and lemon juice. Give it a good stir and adjust to taste. Feel free to add more mayo if you prefer your vegan tuna salad a little creamier. Add more mustard, pickle relish, or lemon juice if you're craving some extra tang.

Sarah's Salad from Utah's Lion House restaurant uses crisp iceberg lettuce, peas, bacon, green onions, and swiss cheese tossed in a simple, sweet dressing. 8. 1 head iceberg lettuce. 2 cups ( approximately half of a 16oz bag frozen peas ) 4 strips bacon. 4 slices (4 oz) swiss cheese. 3 green onions.

Whisk together all ingredients for dressing. (Or add ingredients to a jar with a lid and shake to emulsify.) Add kale to a large bowl. Add in the dressing and massage firmly for 3-5 minutes, until the kale has softened and shrunk considerably in volume. Toss in the shredded cabbage and green onions.

10 ounces prepared baby spinach or Spring mix. 1 1/2 cups sliced strawberries. 1 cup blueberries. 1 cup diced green apple (optional) 1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted. 3/4 cup candied pecans, chopped. 1/2 cup dried cranberries. 1/2 cup crumbled goat cheese. Raspberry vinaigrette, to taste.
