This is the civic church of Wittenberg, where Martin Luther preached. The twin towers of the Church rise up above the center of the town. Inside the church, there is the famous Reformation altar (painted by Martin's close friend, Lucas Cranach ). Many other important heritages: the magnificent organ, beautiful relif and valuable paintings.

The Town church of Wittenberg is a treasure trove of art. You will find numerous works from the workshop of Lucas Cranach the Elder and the Younger including the famous Reformation altar. The Wittenberg Castle Church is probably the most famous and popular attraction in the old town of Wittenberg. The world-famous Theses Door, now a popular photo spot, is no longer the original door on which Luther probably nailed his 95 theses. The door that now stands on this site is cast in bronze and has Luther's theses on it.

Lutherstadt Wittenberg is home to numerous sights in a very small space. Along the main street of the picturesque old town alone, you can already cross numerous cultural highlights off your list. At one end you'll find the Castle Church with its world-famous Theses Door, and just a stone's throw away is the Town Church, where Martin Luther.
