They're supposed to be different; Daphne Blue is more saturated and Sonic Blue is a little more washed out. Over the years Fender has been REALLY inconsistent with the batches they produce. There are some Sonic Blue guitars that look almost like Sea Foam Green, and some Sonic Blue guitars that are so washed out they look almost white.

Your daphne blue is probably just darker due to it having forty years of age on the finish. It was probably much lighter in the begining. Although vintage sonic blue Jags I've seen are always much lighter than vintage daphne blue 'stangs.so maybe the colors have changed over time.

I'm mostly here for the pics, but Daphne with a very dark rosewood board is a beautiful thing. It's so hard to get good pics of these two colors, especially comparison shots. So often in the pics Daphne blue isn't nearly as striking as it is in person.
